What Is This Blog About?

This blog chronicles an investigation of culture in the workplace being conducted by researchers at the Centre for Research on Migration and Ethnic Relations at The University of Western Ontario.

We're interested in answering the following questions about culture in the workplace:

(1) What are the perceptions and experiences of immigrants and non-immigrants with intercultural communication and conflict in the workplace?

(2) What are the experiences of employers and employees with intercultural skills development training?

(3) What kinds of intercultural skills training and workshops are being offered, what theories are the trainings based on, and what educational practices are being used to teach these skills?

(4) How do participants of intercultural skills development training and employees in the workplace see the costs and benefits of building intercultural skills?

(5) How can intercultural skills development be used to change attitudes and behaviours?

This research was sponsored in part by the Mitacs Accelerate Research Internship Program.
